In honor of Pride month this June, the Gordon Center for Performing Arts invites the community to join for a series of programs on the road, in the gallery, and at the Gordon. The festival celebrates multiple facets of our identities – including gender, race, religion, and class – through the arts. Sponsored by the Grandchildren of Harvey M. & Lyn P. Meyerhoff Philanthropic Fund, the festival will highlight local, national, and international artists who are making art with queer and Jewish content and examine the complexity of how we present ourselves and move throughout life.
“This year, we have expanded our planning committee to include teens – to bring new voices and perspectives of young queer Jews,” says Sara Shalva, who heads arts programming at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore.
“Moving off-site is another exciting development. We hope to reach new audiences, build community, and expand our impact.”
The 2023 festival events will include:
- Stoop Stories at Creative Alliance – “Glitter, Gefilte, Guilt, and Guts: Stories by people who are Jewish, Queer, and Here.” June 1st, time to be announced.
