At the beginning of August the GLCCB made a move from Mt. Vernon to 2530 North Charles Street. If you have not had a chance to check out this space do it now. Not only is there a lot of meeting space available for programming there are many different programs and resources available one of which are technology resources.
Lets first start with computer resources. Right now we have two computers available for the community along with a printer. These computers have full Internet access and are available any time the center is opened. If you have your own computer then we also have Wi-Fi available. Just bring your computer, ask a volunteer or staff member for the password and connect your computer.
Beyond computer resources we also have AV resources available for events. We are in the process of upgrading our sound system in one of our meeting rooms for events. We have a TV available for those that would also like to show movies during their events. If you plan to have a meeting where you require the use of a conference line we have that available too. Just ask a volunteer or staff member at the center for help and they can make sure you are properly connected.
Also check out our redesigned website. On this website you can see a calendar showing all the events, information about the center including directions and hours and contact information. Since this website is a continuing work in progress we value your feedback on how we can improve our website and what resources we can add to our website.
Finally this year we will be working on a grant to upgrade our community computers. We will have a choice between Apple or PC computers or potentially a mix. My question to the community is which type of computer would you like to see in the center? What other technology resources would you like to see in the center?
