Keystone State Gay Rodeo Round-Up Wrap-Up

After a fantastic weekend of rough stock, roping, speed, and camp events, the Keystone State Gay Rodeo Association (KSGRA) celebrated its inaugural rodeo as a “yee-haw” success! The rodeo, which celebrated with charity partners Alder Health Services and the LGBT Center of Central Pennsylvania, was a weekend full of friendships, rodeo-family love, and all about living the Western lifestyle.

True Love: A Beautiful Thing

This summer has been a season of change and growth for my kids. The baby is talking up a storm, making two- and three-word sentences. One of my older kids has graduated and is now working as a licensed cosmetologist. Another of my unofficial kids (those who didn’t actually grow up in my house) is heading off to graduate school at an Ivy League university.

Summer is upon us! Pride celebrations, picnics, days at the beach – all under the beating sun. Heat related illnesses – heat exhaustion and heat stroke– are serious medical situations. Know the symptoms: Heat exhaustion could include some or all of the following: fatigue, nausea, headache, excessive thirst, muscle cramps, weakness, confusion or anxiety, drenching sweats, often accompanied by cold, clammy skin, slowed or weakened heartbeat, dizziness, fainting, or agitation.

Keystone State Gay Rodeo Ramps Up

As celebrations for Pride month continue to take place over the Mid-Atlantic region, many are flocking to the Keystone State Gay Rodeo in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for a taste of the West. Set for Friday, June 23rd to Sunday,June 25th, the Keystone State Gay Rodeo is an all-inclusive rodeo and community event open to all comers and competitors. Events will include bull riding, barrel racing, chute dogging, and many more.

Others with grown children are kept away from their grandchildren and excluded from the family festivities. It is hurtful when once loving relationships are cast aside as transgender parents and grandparents struggle with their identities and family dynamics.
