Immigration and faith is the topic of the day on Sunday, July 14th at the local community faith project Dreams and Visions. Join the discussion from 4 to 5:30 pm at 3400 Norman Avenue, Baltimore (look for the big red doors; the entrance is close to Lake Avenue). Speaking will be Karen Gonzalez, author of The God Who Sees: Immigrants, the Bible, and the Journey to Belong. Her book explores the stories of immigrants and refugees in the Bible, including Hagar, Joseph, Ruth, and Jesus. Immigration is a central theme of scripture, she maintains, and discusses how people can welcome immigrants and fight the injustices of the US immigration system.
