If you need a little shot of “holiday spirit” to get you through the last-minute shopping and mental preparation for yet another family gathering, then look no further than the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO). Led by Broadway conductor Andy Einhorn, the BSO will put you in a festive mood with their spectacular Holiday Pops program on Saturday, December 22nd at 3 pm and 8 pm at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.
“Holiday concerts are my favorite,” says Einhorn. “There is nothing better than that collective feeling of joy, gratitude, and all good cheer that comes with the gathering of everyone for a celebration of great music and merriment. The BSO is one of my favorite orchestras to conduct, and I know we will all leave with big smiles on our faces! So, this is a real pleasure and something I’ve been looking forward to now for many months.”
The program will feature holiday favorites “We Need a Little Christmas,” “White Christmas,” music from Disney’s Frozen, and more. The BSO will be joined by vocal soloists Andrea Ross and Ryan Vona, the Baltimore Choral Arts Society, and the ever-favorite tap-dancing Santas. “I’m very excited to hear the BSO play some perennial holiday classics, as well as to introduce Baltimore to two wonderful singers I’m bringing from New York City: Andrea Ross and Ryan Vona,” says Einhorn. “There will be some unexpected moments, but I don’t want to give them away. I can say I love all of the music on this concert.”
The Holiday Pops program will be a wonderful show for music lovers of all ages. To add to the festive fun, audience members can enjoy a pre-concert performance as well as the holiday cookies and ornaments on sale. The BSO takes their holiday programming seriously – assuring attendees leave the performance joyful and lighthearted.
“We have a great combination of old favorites and new selections that will sure delight every audience member,” says Einhorn. “There will be some fun dancing, beautiful singing from the Baltimore Choral Arts Society, and wonderful playing from the BSO. I hope everyone enjoys what we’ve put together.” For ticket information, visit BSOMusic.org or call the box office at 410-783-8000
