Baltimore Concert Opera presents Cilea’s ADRIANA LECOUVREUR

In Cilea’s often-overlooked verismo gem from the beginning of the 20th century, actress Adriana is caught in a love triangle with the Count of Saxony and the Princess de Bouillon. The stage, the court, dazzling balls, and glittering jewels are the backdrop to betrayal and tragedy. Mozart Requiem Reframed

In Mozart Requiem Reframed, we premiere a commission by Morgan State University alumna Jasmine Barnes. The work pulls inspiration from the Mozart Requiem to reflect on Baltimore today with texts by Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass. We also premiere Music Director Anthony Blake Clark’s new edition of the Mozart Requiem, joined by The Carter Legacy Singers. These relationships have been under the scholar’s microscope for decades with many proposing the idea that they went beyond basic friendships.
