US Domestic Airlines Price Fixing Class Action Settlement 2024
There has been no resolution to the domestic airline class action lawsuit or settlement as of May 2024. This is because in 2021, United and Delta Air Lines filed for summary judgement in an effort to get the court to dismiss the lawsuit against them. On September 12, 2023, however, the court rejected their request and allowed the case to proceed. This lawsuit ended in victory for the passengers who had sued the airlines.
Airline companies like Delta and United will not back down so easily. Currently, they are requesting permission to appeal the ruling that refused their summary judgement application. The class counsel has opposed the motion, and the court is currently considering whether to accept the appeal.

Settlement Funds from Other Airlines Still Waiting to be Distributed
For the time being, a separate account is being used to hold the funds that were collected from the previous settlements with American Airlines and Southwest Airlines. Why is the Settlement of the Class Action Case Concerning Airlines Taking Such a Long Time?

- At any time between July 1, 2011, and June 14, 2018, for the American Settlement.
Where can I find it?
To settle this statewide action, Southwest Airlines has agreed to pay $15 million, and American Airlines has agreed to pay $45 million. It is yet uncertain how much money will be given to each member of the Settlement Class who is entitled to receive it.
