The HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is functioning with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), to pay £5,000 to the pensioner women who didn’t receive National Insurance Credits and Home Responsibilities Protection. The women who didn’t receive child benefit between 1978 and 2000 are eligible for the payment. Now, HMRC is working to ensure that each woman who didn’t receive the HRP credits will receive the payment soon.
Around 210,000 eligible citizens are going to be benefited by this one-time aggregated amount of £5,000. There is a due payment of about £1.3 billion, and seniors who are in their 60s and 70s will receive the payment. The Pension Minister announced that eligible candidates who are alive will receive an estimated amount of £5,000. Deceased beneficiaries will receive around £3,000.

Payment Dates
The DWP noticed that there are some pensioners who haven’t got any increment in their pensions. The HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) addressed the problem and stated that there is a significant amount of £5,000 that is unpaid to the pensioners. HMRC researched more about the situation and found that around 210,000 seniors are underpaid and the HMRC owes them a good chunk of the amount.
The payment dates are not yet declared by the HMRC. But, they have reported that they will be working with the DWP to figure out the resolution within the next 18 months.
Latest Updates
To address the issue, the HMRC has begun a “correction campaign”. The error has caused the underpaid pensions. Pensioners who were affected by the issue must have received a brown envelope. It has a letter disclosing about the underpayments.
