If you’re looking for an evening of quintessentially queer theatre with an all new Valentine’s Day spin, then the Iron Crow Theatre is back with Richard O’Brien’s the Rocky Horror Show, complete with callouts, cascading toilet paper, and all the other requisite audience participation props from now through February 16th.
Bring your sweetheart (or sweethearts!) to this deliberately kitschy rock and roll sci-fi gothic thriller. You’ll even have a chance to join Brad, Janet, Frank-N-Furter, Rocky and the gang for a special Valentine’s Day midnight performance!
Performances are at 8 and 11:30 pm on Friday, February 14th; 8 pm on Saturday February 15th; and 5:30 pm on Sunday, February 16th at Baltimore Theatre Project (45 West Preston Street, Baltimore). General admission tickets are $45. VIP tickets are $55 and include premium seating and an audience participation script and prop bag. There are eight special on-stage VIP tickets that will let you be part of the action like no one else, for $65. Tickets are available online at Ironcrowtheatre.org/rockyvday.
A portion of ticket sales will be donated to local nonprofit Moveable Feast. Since 2016, Iron Crow Theatre’s annual production of the The Rocky Horror Show has raised over $6,000 to help provide meals to people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses across Maryland.
“We are thrilled to be continuing our partnership this year with Iron Crow Theatre,” said Moveable Feast ‘s Jessica Kohnen. “We’re honored to work alongside a fellow nonprofit organization that promotes inclusivity and elevating the voices of the queer community.”
Note that the Rocky Horror Show explores mature themes, partial nudity, sexual content, and simulated violence.
