Chase Brexton Health Care will honor its four decades of welcoming, affirming care with a special journey through the organization’s past, present, and future at Charm Ball 2018, set for Saturday, September 22nd at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel.

Current and former board members and staff will guide guests through the challenges and victories of decades past and share an exciting glimpse of what’s to come, all in support of Chase Brexton’s Hope Lives Here Fund, serving some of Maryland’s most vulnerable populations.

“Founded by and for the LGBT community in 1978, Chase Brexton has sustained a critical mission caring for all who enter our doors,” said CEO Patrick Mutch. “Today our mission is to honor diversity, inspire wellness, and improve our community. With your help, I know we can continue our mission for decades to come.

The disco-themed Flashback 40th party will recall Chase Brexton’s beloved “Retro Dance Night” fundraisers of years past, connecting supporters of yesterday and today with funky music, dancing, and fun. The event’s emcee will be Chardelle Moore of WBFF Fox 45 News.

Guests interested in boogie-ing down may be wish to attend the Charm Ball After Party, which starts at 9 pm and includes drinks, dessert, and dancing.

“Chase Brexton emerged four decades ago out of a great need in Baltimore’s LGBT community for welcoming, accessible health care,” said Alexa Milanytch, director of development. “Today, that need remains as a strong as ever. Our 40th Anniversary Charm Ball is the perfect time to reflect on our long history of serving the LGBT community, and to renew our support for all who seek a happier, healthier life.”

The evening’s honorees include the Baltimore City Health Department, which provided crucial support during Chase Brexton’s early days and will accept the Community Partner, as well as former board members Joanne Kraus, who will accept the Lifetime Volunteer Award, and Frank McNeil, Jr., who will accept the Legacy Award. In addition, Michael Schilling, will receive the Dr. Ronald Taylor Award, given each year to a staff member who best exemplifies the mission of Chase Brexton Health Care.
