Brother Help Thyself (BHT) awards grants annually in the HIV and LGBT / same-gender-loving area, and applications will be accepted online until 11:59 pm on August 31st. Groups need to have annual budgets under $2 million. In the past, BHT support has been directed to athletic, cultural, educational, health, history-related, and social programs.
New this year, BHT will also award two Billy McCoy Thompson, Jr. Memorial non-grant awards of $2,500 each to groups serving youth – more details coming by the end of July.
Apply early, says Andrew McCarty, BHT president. “While we understand everyone is busy serving the needs of our community, waiting until the last couple hours of our cycle to hit that send button can jeopardize your application’s being accepted, particularly if the application is not complete or needs clarification, or if technical issues arise. We look forward to receiving and reviewing the many great programs and services that our grantees always present.”
BHT has awarded 1,098 grants totaling some $3 million since 1978 to 194 non-profits. For more info visit Brotherhelpthyself.org/grant-application.
