A little money for a worthy project never hurts! On June 4th, Brother Help Thyself will hold a “Grant Writing 101” workshop from 7 to 9 pm at the Helping Up Mission (1029 East Baltimore Street, Baltimore).
BHT plans to offer technical guidance to organizations in need of grant writing expertise, and a refresher to existing grantees. They will also discuss minor modifications that have been made to their own grant application. Refreshments will be served.
The new chair of BHT’s grants committee, Jackie Adams, will be introduced. Adams is a former grant writer with Chase Brexton Health Care, and currently does grant writing for Maryland in the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention.
You do not have to be a current BHT grantee or even plan to apply for a BHT grant to attend. The event is open to any organization in need of grant writing guidance.
“We’re all in this together and I believe we should all be sharing our expertise instead of holding it close as some sort of state secret,” said Andrew McCarty, BHT president. “BHT is proud of our record of bringing people together – because none of us really succeeds at the cost of – or without – the other. We’re stronger together!”
BHT’s 2018 grant application will open on June 30th.
If you are unable to attend the workshop in Baltimore, a second workshop will be held in Washington, DC, on June 7th, from 7 to 9 pm on the second floor of Dignity Washington (721 8th Street, SE).
