Paint the Town Pink!

On Friday, May 5th, Asbury Park came together as a community, as they have for the past five years for the 5th annual “Pink Prom” to raise funds to another amazing cause. The event took place in one of my favorite venues in Asbury Park, Hotel Tides. This is the fifth year of this spectacular event that has amassed thousands of dollars to help local LGBTQ organizations, and it has turned into one of New Jersey’s most successful fundraisers. In the last five years the Pink Prom has benefited Pride Network, Pride Center of New Jersey, Project Real, Gender Spectrum Support Network, Glsen, and this year, Garden State Equality, an organization that has done so much for the LGBTQ community, and now will continue to do so.

Let’s Talk About PrEP, Baby

My Friend Ashunta Sheriff

I’d like to introduce you to my friend Ashunta Sheriff. She and I worked together at a beauty counter at Henri Bendel in New York City for a couple of years. She’s moved on since then to do huge things throughout her 18-year career. Ashunta has an amazing list of celebrity clientele including, Alicia Keyes and Taraji P. Henson on the Fox network’s raging hit, “Empire,” to name just a few.

On the weekend of March 31st through April 2nd, “No Fuckin’ Foolin’ Productions” hosted the second Annual Mid-Atlantic Drummer, Drummer Boy, and Drummer Bootblack contests at Paradise here in Asbury Park. I had the honor of being asked to be one of the judges for Mid-Atlantic Drummer and Mid-Atlantic Drummer Boy, alongside Simon Ruchti (whom I had the pleasure of stalking all weekend), Lisa Clark (Ms. New Jersey Leather 2011), and legendary disco icon, Felipe Rose, the Native American Indian of the Village People. This contest is a feeder contest for Drummer North America and welcomes any type of kink you’re into, jockstraps, pup play, cosplay, you name it. Not just leather or BDSM.
