Rehoboth Beach: Some Call It 'Rehomo', I Call It Fabulous
by Robbie Baldwin
A couple months ago a few friends and I took a trip down to the lgbt-friendly coastal town of Rehoboth Beach. Our goal was to celebrate our friends’ birthday in a big way, and boy, did we ever!
Rehoboth was the perfect get-a-way destination for a day of fun in the sun and has been a popular vacation destination for the Baltimore, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. lgbt communities for over 30 years. What first stood out to us as we drove down the main street of downtown Rehoboth was the plethora of lgbt-owned businesses lining the streets.

Creekside Bed and Breakfast is located in a private home in the community of Deale, MD on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. It has a rear deck that has a hot tub and a pool and an area that invites lounging before and after swimming. The front porch, facing the water, offers rocking chairs, a swing, and great bird watching. It’s within a half-hour’s drive of Annapolis, with its historic town center, state capital, and Naval Academy; Calvert Cliffs State Park where one can hike along miles of natural chalk cliffs above the Chesapeake; Patuxent River Park for canoeing and birding; a dozen antique and "junk" stores; and a mall full of outlet stores. And, of course, the museums, monuments, theaters, and restaurants of Washington, DC and Baltimore are 50 minutes away. But most guests simply bring books and "chill out" in a rocker and watch the local bird life.
