A Rainbow of Bed and Breakfasts

Creekside Bed and Breakfast

Creekside Bed and Breakfast is located in a private home in the community of Deale, MD on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. It has a rear deck that has a hot tub and a pool and an area that invites lounging before and after swimming. The front porch, facing the water, offers rocking chairs, a swing, and great bird watching. It’s within a half-hour’s drive of Annapolis, with its historic town center, state capital, and Naval Academy; Calvert Cliffs State Park where one can hike along miles of natural chalk cliffs above the Chesapeake; Patuxent River Park for canoeing and birding; a dozen antique and "junk" stores; and a mall full of outlet stores. And, of course, the museums, monuments, theaters, and restaurants of Washington, DC and Baltimore are 50 minutes away. But most guests simply bring books and "chill out" in a rocker and watch the local bird life.

The Ottobar – A Great Mix

      by Jeffrey Clagett

The Ottobar at 2549 Howard Street is a very accepting venue for alternative lifestyles including lgbt people.  It has been playing an eclectic mix of music--live and recorded for nearly thirteen years.

Co-owner of the bar, Craig Boarman, has made it clear that all are welcome at the bar and that they do not tolerate hostile behavior. When asked why he thinks that gay people enjoy coming to the bar, he said, “The Ottobar specializes in showcasing indie/alternative/punk/experimental music. Although we do host some 'mainstream' concerts & events, I think that because we're more into non-mainstream music and have an open mind to music.  It carries over to our attitudes towards our patrons too. We want cool patrons who are into music and events we think are cool and fun ...straight, gay, black, white, whatever.”
